Piché: proud partner since 1983

For more than 40 years, the Piché team has been advancing its clients in the realization of automated equipment projects for wood handling, while maintaining its fundamental values at the heart of daily life: family, respect and pride!

1983

Guy Piché starts Machinage Piché Inc. in Daveluyville, providing maintenance and repair services for neighbouring industries.

1986

Machinage Piché moves to its present location and adds to its services the design and manufacturing of wood handling machinery.

1990

Machinage Piché expands its plant by more than 5,000 sq. ft. to serve its growing clientele. The company, which employs about 25 people, computerizes its management, administration, and engineering departments.

1994

A second expansion of the plant, also totaling 5000 sq. ft., is completed, still with the goal of providing better service to Machinage Piché inc.'s clientele.

1997

Machinage Piché acquires the 36,000 sq. ft. plan no. 2, known as the “Domino”.

1998

The company Ideal Cargo inc. is launched by Machinage Piché and then sold in the early 2000s.

2002

A third expansion of nearly 12,500 sq. ft. is undertaken at Machinage Piché's Daveluyville plant. The Piché team consists of close to 50 people: welders, mechanics, technicians, draftsmen and engineers in the production, sales, engineering. and administration departments.

2008

The industrial subcontracting division is launched. At its peak, this division would employ 40 factory workers.

2012

Guy Piché's son, Jean-Benoît Piché, becomes president of the company and launches it on the North American market.

2014

Jean-Benoît Piché officially takes over the company and continues to develop the North American market. Piché continues to grow and a team of twenty installers covers the Canadian and American territories.

2017

Piché acquires more than 750,000 sq. ft. of land and a high-definition plasma table to respond more quickly to production needs.

The team now counts 100 employees!

Very involved in its community, the company finances the redevelopment of the Daveluyville baseball field.

2018

The expansion of the offices, located in the main plant in Daveluyville, doubles the space.

Piché is a proud sponsor of the restructuring and improvement of the school park, which joins Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Elementary School and Sainte-Anne High School in Daveluyville.

2019

The Daveluyville Sports Center is getting a makeover and becomes the Piché Sports Centre thanks to a major investment spread over the next 10 years.

And to thank its employees for Christmas 2019, Piché brews La Piché, a New England IPA beer, special Winter 2019 edition.

2020

The facade of the second plant, known as the "Domino", is getting a makeover. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, Piché acknowledges the exceptional contribution of its employees with La Piché 2, a limited-edition summer lager.

To meet the constantly growing demand, the organization makes an important economic decision: to close its industrial subcontracting department to invest 100% in its core field of activity, woodworking machinery.

2021

After 38 years of operation, Piché boasts a team of 140 passionate and dedicated employees, who work in more than 80,000 square feet to serve an international clientele. The company is launching its new website to showcase its employees and its unique expertise.

2022

Major investment in plan 2. Investments amounting to more than $1.2 million have been made, allowing Piché to double the mechanical space from 7,000 square feet to 13,000 square feet in addition to installing 6 new lifting to improve the safety and productivity of operations.

In addition, in order to better serve its customers, the interior storage space has also more than doubled, going from 9,000 square feet to more than 16,000 square feet.

Family is very important to Piché. The proof: I was hired as a replacement during my daughter's maternity leave and I’m still here! We both work here now. There is a wonderful atmosphere, and we feel fully appreciated. It’s priceless!

Working for Piché means being part of a team. A great group, welcoming and dynamic, which guides newcomers well and knows how to use individual strengths to build a unique team.
